Hi Friends! Today I am sharing a layout I made for the DT reveal at Creative Embellishements. It's their first monthly challenge. The theme is to make anything that has to do with the continuing hot nautical trend.
Kayla recently went with her boyfriend to the marina for his fathers work picnic. She has a blast touring the Naval War ships and submarines. There's always a lot to do at the Erie Basin Marina. We live only 10 mins away and its located at the very eastern tip of Lake Erie.
I was also inspired by the sketch at Sketchbook365 for their September Challenge. I very often look for somewhere to start when working on my layouts. I stayed pretty true to the layout.
Sketch is based on a layout by Paula Ridley
I dabbed some Tim Holtz distress paint in a brown color onto the captains wheel for the base. I was trying to achieve a natural wood look. I then stamped a wood image using a brown Faber Castell Pitt Penn. I then appied glossy accents for a shiny effect.
I used a red permanent marker to color the # (hashtag) words.
WE would love to see what you create. Please link up at the Creative Embellishments blog for a chance to win a 20.00 gift certificate to their store.
